Energy Audits

Kight Energy employs certified technicians who provide home and commercial energy inspections, or audits. A comprehensive energy audit explains how one can reduce utility bills and improve indoor air quality. Inspections take approximately four to six hours, with a written report following in about five working days. At the conclusion of the audit, clients will receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report.

DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS

BLOWER DOOR - A blower door measures the air-tightness of buildings, and helps locate air leakage.
A blower door consists of a calibrated fan for measuring an airflow rate, and a pressure-sensing device that measures the air pressure created by the fan flow.

When our team obtains an accurate measure or air tightness on a structure, we can use this information to increase energy conservation or decrease indoor air pollution.

DUCTWORK BLASTER –
A ductwork blaster utilizes a fan and pressure gauge to measure the effectiveness of a structure’s HVAC ductwork system. Leakage from ductwork could increase heating and cooling costs by as much as 30 percent, and is sometimes responsible for safety problems.

INFRARED THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA - Thermography measures surface temperatures by viewing light related to the heat outside the visible spectrum. Infrared cameras are often used together with the blower door test, allowing auditors to check for adequate levels of insulation.
